RUNACOS Constitution
The governing document of the Redeemer's University Association of Computer Science Students.
Article I — Name and Establishment
The name of this association shall be the Redeemer's University Association of Computer Science Students, hereinafter referred to as RUNACOS. RUNACOS is established under the auspices of the Department of Computer Science, Redeemer's University, Ede, Osun State, Nigeria.
Article II — Aims and Objectives
The objectives of RUNACOS shall be: (a) To promote academic excellence among Computer Science students; (b) To foster a spirit of innovation and technological advancement; (c) To provide a platform for professional development and networking; (d) To represent the interests of Computer Science students in the university community; (e) To organize workshops, seminars, hackathons, and other developmental programs.
Article III — Membership
Membership of RUNACOS shall be open to all registered students of the Department of Computer Science, Redeemer's University. Membership is obtained upon registration and payment of association dues. Honorary membership may be granted to individuals who have made significant contributions to the association or the field of Computer Science.
Article IV — Executive Council
The Executive Council shall comprise: (a) President; (b) Vice President; (c) General Secretary; (d) Financial Secretary; (e) Director of Socials; (f) Public Relations Officer; (g) Director of Sports; (h) Welfare Director. The Executive Council shall be elected by the general body of members annually.
Article V — Meetings
General meetings shall be held at least once every academic semester. Emergency meetings may be called by the President or upon a written petition signed by at least one-third of the members. A quorum shall consist of 50% plus one of the registered members.
Article VI — Dues and Finances
The association shall determine the amount of dues payable by members at the beginning of each academic session. All financial transactions shall be transparent and audited at the end of each session. The Financial Secretary shall maintain accurate records of all income and expenditure.
Article VII — Amendments
This Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the members present at a general meeting, provided that the proposed amendment has been communicated to all members at least two weeks prior to the meeting.
